Our office participated in a Thanksgiving food drive for the United Way Halton & Hamilton partner, Food For Life. We donated 350 items to this amazing place that makes a huge difference in our community.
They are a food bank, but they mainly rescue food from the food chain that would otherwise be thrown away and give it to families who cannot afford to buy groceries. They are a place where anyone who self-identifies their need for no-cost food can go and take what they need for free. Currently, they service about 3,500 households in Halton. They very much appreciated our donation and they assured us that it would be put to good use right in our own backyard. It’s amazing how many people use this important service that you would never know about.
